2020 Pelagic Trips with Island Packers

It feels so good to be in 2020 doesn't it? It's just a nice number in many ways... so even, so clear eyed.

So without further delay here are the Pelagic Birding trips offered through Island Packers for 2020.

Two Pelagic Scrub-Jay Trips:

March 8th (Sun)

and

April 18th (Sat)

$80 each

9 hrs (8am-5pm)

Out of Ventura Harbor, this is a change from previous years and they will now be run on the high speed catamaran Island Explorer. This trip drops off for about 1.5 hrs on Santa Cruz Island at Prisoners Harbor to view the endemic Island Scrub-Jay and the rest of the time searching the near shore and offshore waters for Pelagic birds and locally nesting seabirds.

Out of Ventura Harbor aboard our high speed catamaran Island Explorer. This goes far south of the Channel Islands in search of specialty birds of the Southern California offshore waters and seasonal migrants.

Out of Ventura Harbor aboard our high speed catamaran Island Explorer. Like the July trip we aim to get as far south of the Channel Islands as we can to search the deep basins and high ridges and seamounts for migrating birds and rarities that are best found in Southern California waters.
